Custom aligner fabrication
Your treatment plan goes to Invisalign's lab, where a custom sequence of clear aligners is manufactured specifically for your mouth. Each aligner is a stage in the gradual movement plan. Most cases involve 14 to 40 aligner sets, depending on case complexity.
Wear & switch on schedule
You wear each aligner for 7 to 14 days (Dr. Martinez tells you which cadence is right for your case), 20 to 22 hours per day. You remove them only to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush your teeth. You'll see Dr. Martinez every 6 to 10 weeks for brief check-ins.
Retention — keep your result

Each new aligner does cause about 24 to 48 hours of pressure or mild soreness as your teeth start moving to the next position. Most patients describe it as 'tightness, not pain' and adjust within a couple of days. Over-the-counter pain relievers handle the rare moments of real discomfort.
Can I eat with Invisalign in?
No — you remove the aligners for all meals and snacks. You can drink water with them in, but coffee, tea, soda, juice, and anything else will stain the aligners and can warp them with heat. Many patients find this the hardest part to adjust to in the first week. By week two it becomes routine, and most find they snack less (which is often a side benefit).
Will Invisalign work for my case?
Probably — but not certainly. Invisalign handles most cosmetic-alignment and mild-to-moderate orthodontic cases beautifully.
